To get a price of less than $150, you’re asking for the base fare on the ticket to be in the neighborhood of $100 round trip. This, unfortunately, is unlikely — given current airline pricing, it’s likelier that you’ll be paying closer to $250 after tax for flights of the length you’re looking for.
Short of waiting for a fare sale, the best chance you’ll get at paying the price you want to pay is by putting in a bid through Priceline or Hotwire.
You can try Southwest Airlines. They fly from Omaha to New York LaGuardia (LGA) but you have to make a connection in Chicago Midway (MDW). The flight from MDW-LGA starts on 6/28. The other alternative is to fly out of Kansas City connecting in Chicago before arriving in New York.
If the price to LaGuardia is too high, see how much ticket prices are if you fly into Providence, RI or Hartford, CT.
If you are trying to go to the southwestern part of CT which is where I used to live, flying to LaGuardia, JFK or White Plains is much more convenient.
